This playground receives FOUR AND A HALF PYRAMIDS-- to our surprise! When we first walked in, it seemed to be a "little kid playground"-- we thought we'd stay five minutes, give it a try, give it two pyramids (maybe four or five for two-year-olds), and leave to find a better playground...
But...!
To the boys' extremely pleasant surprise... this park had some very pleasant not-so-secrets up its sleeve...
Most notably, the buckets-full-of-water dumped from the revolving carnivalesque wheel "fountain":

We'll let pictures tell the rest of the story of the playground's various other features, all of which turned out, also to pack more fun/ imagination-potential than we'd first surmised:

Worth a quick mention (and a coupla pix), though not part of the playground itself-- Madison Square Park has some nice features aside from the play area. Most notably, a large, summer-populated tree-shaded central lawn, containing some impressive, large steel sculptures. Pictured below is a large, reflective rounded steel blob, which the boys had fun climbing atop and sliding down for a time:

Visually VERY impressive, and arcing skyward right at the visual center of the large central lawn, are the two enmeshing steel tree sculptures pictured below:

They're worth coming to see-- and there are plenty of REAL trees all around the park, as well as some very nice floral landscaping, for the whole family to enjoy!
If you're willing to brave the sometimes-long-lines, and somewhat yuppie prices-- the park also boasts a popular frozen-custard (and other snax and treats) stand near the southeast corner... and, as we did, if you DON'T feel like standing in line, you'll likely find an ice cream truck parked nearby (we found one just northeast of the park playground-- near the kids, of course!).
Come enjoy Madison Square Park and Playground-- the boys and I can near-guarantee that you and your kids, of all ages, will!!!
